The First Round of My Very First Virtual Interview in the world of Remote jobs

How I Cleared the First Round of My Very First Virtual Interview for a Remote Job It was around May 2022. I had just returned home from the school where I was working as an English teacher. After a long day at work, I was relaxing when my phone suddenly started ringing. The number was unknown, but I decided to answer it. In the past, I had received several calls from recruiters through job portals like Naukri.com and Shine.com, and some of those calls had even led to teaching opportunities. So, whenever an unknown number appeared on my screen, I always felt there was a chance it could be related to a job. Female Caller: "Hello!" Me: "Hello, who is this?" Female Caller: "I am calling from PlanetSpark, an EdTech platform. I came across your profile and found it suitable for the position of Soft Skills Trainer. Could you please introduce yourself?" The moment I heard the words job opportunity , I became excited. At that time, I had never attended a ...

Day 3: The Pronoun Discovery That Improved My Understanding

Image
How Learning Pronouns Changed My Understanding of English Communication When I started reading pronouns, almost everything felt very similar to what I had already studied during my school days. At first, I thought pronouns were just simple replacement words used in grammar rules. But while learning English deeply on my own, I discovered some uses of pronouns that completely changed the way I looked at communication skills and sentence formation. Among all pronouns, three words especially surprised me: “this,” “one,” and “it.” How I Understood the Pronoun “This” Earlier, I used to think that “this” was used only for non-living things. For example: This book is interesting. This chair is broken. Because of such examples, my mind had created a fixed rule that “this” could only point toward objects. But later, I discovered that “this” can also be used for introducing a person. The sentence that changed my understanding was: “Hi, this is Anju.” I understood that  thi...

DAY 2: The Small Grammar Discovery That Changed My Confidence in English

Image
After understanding nouns, I started observing everything around me differently. I would look at objects and try to judge whether they were nouns or not. Slowly, English grammar stopped feeling boring and started becoming interesting for me. One day, I looked at a fan and started thinking about why we call it a “fan.” Then I realized something important — we humans give names to the things around us. A fan is simply an object with three blades that runs on electricity and throws air, and we have given it a name so we can identify it easily. For many people, this may sound like a very small realization, but for me, it felt like a discovery. That understanding completely changed the way I looked at English vocabulary and communication skills. I realized that even if I did not know the exact English word for a Hindi word, I could still explain that thing using simple words and descriptions. That single thought gave me confidence while learning English. Earlier, one of the bigg...

The Incidents That Changed My English Learning Journey

Image
Learning English was never easy for me: For a long time, English was not just a subject in college; it was my biggest fear. I constantly worried about grammar mistakes, sentence formation, and whether people would judge my communication skills. Even though I had always been considered a good student during my school days, I lacked confidence whenever I had to write or speak in English. My real English learning journey started during my BCA days, after one emotional classroom incident that completely changed my mindset.

The Day I Truly Understood What a Noun Is

Image
For the first time in my life, I actually understood what a noun really means. During school, I had memorized the definition: “A noun is the name of a person, place, or thing.” But honestly, I had never understood its real meaning or importance. This time, everything felt different. As I carefully studied parts of speech, I slowly started understanding how English sentences are actually formed. I realized that almost everything around us is a noun because everything that exists has a name or identity; whether it is a person, object, place, emotion, feeling, or idea. Slowly, I started observing everything around me in the same way. I realized that almost every object, place, emotion, or living thing has a name. That was the moment when I started understanding the real meaning of nouns in English grammar. I also discovered something very interesting; many things are named based on their action, appearance, behavior, function, or characteristics. That realization fascinate...
